Play Date

Kyler and I met up with Carol and her 2yr old daughter Emerson at Quail Springs Mall this morning. The girls had so much fun playing on all the creatures and running around with all the other kids too. It was nice to visit with Carol and get to know each other a little better. They just moved to our neighborhood from Illinois in late November and I know it's no fun to move to a place where your friends aren't close. I was fortunate to have had atleast my sister-in-law Ashely to keep me company. Hopefully I can do the same for her.

Finally, an update!

It's been 2 months since my last post! Sorry to those of you who try to keep updated. I've been a slacker...kind of. I haven't posted any pictures because I lost them all. Blake got me an awesome new camera for Christmas and I took tons of pictures all through December and January. Well, my camera wasn't working right so Blake tried to fix it when he accidently erased EVERYTHING! I know it was an accident so I can't be too mad at him. I'm just waiting for family to send some pics that they took over the holidays. I'll post them as soon as they come in!

January went by so fast! Blake and I went out for New Years, Kyler had diarrhea for a straight week, Kyler's first time on a plane, went to Denver for a stock show, Kyler had her first snow experience, visited Tulsa for the weekend, saw the Doodlebops Live, Kyler and I had a cold for a week, and took a trip to minor emergency for Kyler's really high temperature to find out she had an ear infection.

I also started a womens bible study at Crossings Community Church which we've been attending for a while. The study is Stepping Up by Beth Moore. This is my first bible study and it's going great. I absolutly love Beth and her enthusiasum and passion. I am learning so much studying the Psalms of Ascent. In one of the lessons from this past week she really got my attention. Beth talked about one of her experiences in Africa. She said the people were so hungry that when they recieved seed, they often eat the seed rather than planting it and bringing forth the harvest. She compared that to our spiritual walk. Question: "Why have so many of us heard hundreds of messages on freedom, done every line of bible studies, wept over them, been blessed by them, and even memorized parts of them, yet remain in captivity?" Answer: "Because we ate the seed instead of sowing it." I realized that it's easy to plant a seed. The hard part is being patient and letting it grow. If we are patient, we shouldn't fear the outcome because there is always a harvest. That's a promise. I would recommend and encourage everyone to experience this study! February has just begun! We invited a bunch of our OSU buddies over to watch the Super Bowl, spent a lot of time playing ROCK BAND, and Kyler had her first day at her school. She's attending SaFe Day at Sante Fe Pres Church. The teachers said she did wonderfully! She's only going once a week on Wednesdays. I thought it would be good for her to get more interaction with kids her age and to be in a little different environment rather than home. Plus it'll be nice to have a few hours to do whatever I desire! Her teachers said that she befriended a little boy named Brody. She said she thinks they speak the same language because they spent all day together playing, talking, and laughing. I guess Brody kept making Kyler giggle throughout the day. I would love to be a fly on the wall!!

A Day At The Park

February 4, 2008 was a record breaking day for Oklahoma. With a high of 79 degrees, the park was filled with neighborhood kids. Kyler and I pulled out our shorts and sandals and spent to afternoon sliding, swinging, bouncing in the car, playing in the sand, getting trouble for eating the sand, rolling rocks down the slide, getting in trouble for putting the rocks in our mouth, and meeting some of the kids (and moms) of Homestead.

I just think this is cute. I couldn't get her to stop staring.

Here she is rolling the rocks down the slide.

Water break!

Adyson wanted Kyler to help her to build a sand castle but she kept messing up the pile.

This is Kyler, our new neighborhood friend, Emerson, and Adyson trying to build a castle.

I absolutley love love this picture!! It is so fun to watch the girls really interact with each other. I think it's funny to see Kyler follow Ady around! Before we know it, Kyler will have the new Bechtel baby cousin following her around!
